I had this idea that I was an easy child. I don’t recall being busy, mischievous, or one to disobey rules. In my mind, I was well behaved and adorable with the penchant for perfection. It wasn’t until I had a lovely little girl of my own that I was corrected on what my version of childhood events was. According to my family, our little mouse is exactly like me. She is stubborn, willful, kind, empathetic, always on the move, adventurous, loving, smart, and absolutely hilarious. I never expected to battle myself. However, I am now learning how complicated I can be. Watching my mini me has made me realize all the things that I need guidance on, the parts of me that God can change. I pray that our girl will not make my mistakes and will learn from the heartbreak I have experienced. I want her to be better than me, wiser, stronger, and smarter. I’m grateful that God has given us a chance to help our children through life with his word as a guide. I look forward to watching her grow (not too quicklyI hope) and see her persevere.
