Tea and Belles

Our daughter turned two this past Saturday. It was a beautiful tea party with a beautiful sunny day, and I am just so grateful for the experience of throwing a party for our little love. I was stressed out; I wanted her party to be perfect. I placed a lot of expectations on myself for great food, decorations, fun activities, and the perfect present. Throwing this party symbolized so many things for me. It symbolized how special this prayed for baby of ours is. I wanted the best for our little miracle child, and I almost ruined it for myself. I stressed out about the tiny details that she would have never noticed. But, what she did notice was being surrounded by people who love her. She was held by aunts and uncles, played with her cousins, and ate cake. One of my favorite moments of the day was when she saw the surprise gift from her aunt and uncle. I have mentioned in a post previously that our daughter loves Beauty and the Beast, her gift was a visit from Belle. The look on her face when Belle walked into our home and the way she hugged her was simply priceless. She spent a half hour either being carried by or walking with Belle. She sipped water out of Chip and had so many pictures taken. This memory is one that will stay with me forever because she was so enthralled. The food didn’t matter, nor did the decorations, or wrapping paper, what mattered was her happiness. I am blessed to have learned that lesson when she turned two because I will do my best not to make that mistake again. From now on, I want to be present instead of expecting perfection. Another word of wisdom from a Beauty and the Beast tea party, always try the grey stuff, it really is delicious and always prioritize being in the moment.

It was our pleasure to help make her day such a special one! And you did a fabulous job juggling all of the chaos that children’s parties bring. It might not be a quiet village and everyday is not like the one before, but we are here for you.
